GMA star hit by tough work-impacting health diagnosis as fans flood her with support

CMGit is Dr. Jennifer Ashton shared unfortunate news with her social media followers this week, announcing that she has tested positive for Covid for the second time.

The TV doctor shared a picture of his positive test, along with the caption: “Round 2 with Covid: I had a sore throat so did a quick test which was positive.

“Very mild symptoms ~ I have notified anyone I have been with in the last 48 hours for more than 15 minutes / within 6 feet…I will see you all again after my isolation ends…#ba5.”

Fans were quick to comment on the post, with one writing, “Oh no!! Get better soon,” while another wrote, “Sending you big hugs! Hope you’ll get better soon.” A third added: “Get better very soon Jennifer we will miss you on GMA.”

The news is particularly difficult for the mother-of-two, as she contracted Covid not too long ago which caused her hair loss.

In footage recently posted online, Jennifer was seen receiving scalp injections to see if they could help with her current situation. The video saw her bravely undertaking the painful procedure, which left many of her followers emotional.

Alongside the video, Jennifer shared a lengthy post detailing the procedure.

She wrote: “Hair chronicles PRP edition: I went to a certified dermatologist @drjrapaport in New Jersey to see if I was a candidate for PRP scalp injections for my hair situation.

“Dr. Rapaport assessed my scalp and found FOUR causes for my current situation: low protein in my vegan diet (new: since becoming vegan 14 months ago), daily damage from styling for TV (heat, draft, drying products, wicks, professional lights), hair loss and age related to Covid.

“PRP is considered experimental for hair growth, but many studies have been published in the peer-reviewed Derm literature on its use. Dr. Rapaport led the US clinical trials of the use of PRP.
