Nagaland: Health workers in Phek trained in oral health management

Dimapur, Oct. 14 (EMN): The National Oral Health Program (NOHP), Phek, held an Orientation Day on Oral Health and Dental Emergency Management for Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHAs) and Community Health Workers (CHO) under Phek Sadar on October 14 at Dr. Wethselo T Mero Memorial Hall, District Hospital, Phek.

An update from the Office of the Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Phek, said Dr Nichukholie Vupru, Senior Dental Surgeon at Phek District Hospital and resource person, explained the importance of oral health -dental and its influence on other parts of the body for overall health. He said Dr. Vupru also talked about basic oral care methods and healthy eating habits as well as raising awareness to prevent common oral health issues.
