Universal Health Services: Nina Chen Elected to Universal Health Services Board


KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa., September 23, 2022 – Universal Health Services, Inc. (NYSE: UHS) announced the election of Nina Chen to its Board of Directors, effective September 21, 2022. This election expands the Board to a total of eight members.

Currently, Ms. Chen is a special projects consultant for The Welcoming Center, a Philadelphia-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that promotes inclusive economic growth through immigrant integration. In this role, she acts as a special advisor to the CEO, assists with development projects, and facilitates board recruitment and engagement. She has held this position since 2013.

Prior to that, Ms. Chen worked at Mercer for over 13 years, her last role as an associate in the customer relationship management group. Mercer is a business of Marsh McLennan (NYSE: MMC), one of the world’s largest professional services firms in the areas of risk, strategy and human resources. While at Mercer, Ms. Chen managed global customer relationships with major pharmaceutical, insurance and healthcare companies; managed delivery of human resource consulting and human resource outsourcing projects; led the team’s sales efforts and developed sales plans for the Mid-Atlantic region; served as executive sponsor of the Mercer Women’s Network; was the founder and president of the Mercer Racial and Ethnic Diversity Network; and was a member of Mercer’s US Diversity Council.

Previously, Ms. Chen held recruitment and consulting roles with The Salveson Stetson Group and The Hay Group. She served as Senior Associate, Tax and Employee Benefits Department at Montgomery McCracken Walker & Rhoads LLP, a multidisciplinary law firm located in Philadelphia.

Ms. Chen holds a Juris Doctor (cum laude) from Temple University School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry from Florida Atlantic University.
