General Information

Genprin is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug. Genprin is used to reduce fever and relieve minor to moderate pain from conditions such as muscle aches, toothaches, menstrual cramps, and headaches. Genprin may also be used to reduce inflammation and swelling in conditions such as arthritis. In some cases, Genprin is also given to prevent blood clot. It also temporarily relieves the aches and pains associated with arthritis, muscle aches, colds, and flu. Aspirin is also used in low doses, alone or in combination with other medications, as a blood thinner to prevent blood clots after surgery on clogged arteries and to reduce the risk of stroke or heart attack. Genprin passes into breast milk and may affect a nursing infant. Do not take this medicine without first talking to your doctor if you are breast-feeding a baby. Genprin should not be given to children under 16 for flu or chickenpox, as Aspirin has been associated with the development of an often-fatal condition, known as Reye's syndrome. This drug may rarely cause serious bleeding from the stomach or other areas of the body.

Genprin Dosage

It is best that Genprin taken with food or milk.
For adults (for pain and fever): 325-650mg every 4 hours up to 6 times a day.
For childrens: Consult your physician.

Some common side effects reported with this medicine include:

Stomach pain or discomfort.
Loss of Appetite.
Nausea and vomiting.
Redness of Skin.
Intestinal bleeding.
Dizziness.
Trouble Breathing.

Warnings and precautions before taking Genprin

Children and teenagers should not take genprin if they have chickenpox, influenza or any undiagnosed illness without first consulting a doctor about Reye's syndrome, a rare but serious illness.
Before having surgery, tell your doctor or dentist that you are taking this medication.
Genprin should not be taken if you had allergic reaction to Aspirin in the past, or if you have bleeding disorder, asthma, or stomach ulcers.
Do not take a double dose.
Genprin should not be given during pregnancy especially the last 3 months of pregnancy. If you is nursing, inform your doctor as Aspirin does pass into breast milk.

Overdosage

If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.
Symptoms of overdose may include: burning pain in the stomach, confusion, mood changes, fainting, weakness, ringing in the ears, fever, rapid breathing, change in the amount of urine, seizures, loss of consciousness.
