Ibritumomab

Generic Name

  • Ibritumomab.

Brand Names

  • In-111 Zevalin, Y-90 Zevalin.

General Information

Ibritumomab is a protein that targets white blood cells in the body. Ibritumomab is used in combination with other medicines to treat non-hodgkin's lymphoma. The dose of ibritumomab tiuxetan will be different for different patients. Avoid contact with people who have colds, the flu, or other contagious illnesses. Ibritumomab can lower the blood cells that help your body fight infections. This can make it easier for you to bleed from an injury or get sick from being around others who are ill. It is not known whether ibritumomab passes into breast milk or if it could harm a nursing baby. Do not receive ibritumomab without telling your doctor if you are breast-feeding a baby. Ibritumomab is made from human plasma (part of the blood) and may contain infectious agents that can cause disease. Although ibritumomab is screened, tested, and treated to reduce the possibility that it carries an infectious agent, it can still potentially transmit disease.
